Notes:
University of Texas golfer Haley Stephens of Greer, S.C., was the only player under par, shooting 1-under 70 to earn medalist honors. Also qualifying were August Kim of St. Augustine, Fla., and University of Michigan golfer Yugene Lee of Athens, Ga., both with scores of 71. University of Georgia golfer Emilie Burger of Hoschton, Ga., who was medalist at this same site in each of the last two years, qualified with a 72 this year. Incoming Mississippi State golfer Gabi Oubre' of Mobile, Ala., and junior Ashlan Ramsey of Milledgeville, Ga., nabbed the last two qualifying spots, each with scores of 73.

 

After both golfers turned in a 74, Duke University's Stacey Kim of Columbus, Ga., won a two-hole playoff over Kennesaw State golfer Ket Preamchuen of Thailand to claim the first alternate spot.

 

The Oaks Course was set to 6,179 yards and a par 71.

 

Qualifiers advance to the 36th annual U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship, which will be held at Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station, N.J., June 18-23, 2012. Entries were open to women amateur golfers who, since Jan. 1, 2012, have been bona fide public course players and have not held privileges of any course that does not extend playing privileges to the general public, or privileges of any private club maintaining its own course and have a USGA Handicap not exceeding 18.4. The U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
