Jay Childs of Kennesaw carried his team, Lanier Golf Club in Cumming, from two shots back at the start of the day to win the 10th Annual Georgia Team Championship held at The Orchard Golf & Country Club in Clarkesville October 28-29.

Childs shot the low round of the day with a four-under par 68. Teammates Jeff Belk shot a one-over par 73 and Lyn Barnett shot 80 for a 221 total for the day.  Wade Sheffield shot an 82, but his score was not counted in this format. Their five-under par 355 total was one better than Crooked Creek Golf Club in Alpharetta who shot 220 for the day and were led by John Davis with a two-under par 70.

First round leaders Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth shot 225 on the day and finished in third place at two shots back. This is Lanier GC's third Team Championship. The clubs were represented by four male club members who played in two man teams yesterday in a four-ball stroke play format. Today they played individual stroke play counting the three best scores.
