Notes
LPGA professionals Jane Park of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Macarena Silva of Chile earned medalist honors at the U.S. Women's Open Sectional qualifier at Druid Hills Golf Club and automatically qualified for the Championship by posting a 1-under-lar 143 score. Six other pros also earned spots into the U.S. Women's Open by finishing in the top eight of the 36-hole qualifier: Laura Diaz of Scotia, N.Y., (even-par 144), Austin Ernst of Seneca, S.C., (1-over-par 145), Amelia Lewis of Jacksonville, Fla., (1-over-par 145), Kristy McPherson of Conway, S.C., (2-over-par 146), Jennifer Rosales of Philippines (2-over-par 146) and Kris Tamulis of Naples, Fla., (2-over-par 146).

Five players tied for ninth at 3-over-par 147 and played off to determine the two alternate positions. LPGA pros Jennifer Gleason of Clearwater, Fla., ((79-68), Ashli Bunch of Morristown, Tenn., (75-72), Brooke Pancake of Chattanooga, Tenn., (74-73), Karen Stupples of Orlando, Fla., (73-74) and the low-amateur, Ji Eun Baik of Newnan, Ga., (70-77), returned to the first tee.

 

After the first playoff hole, Pancake chipped in for birdie to clinch the first alternate position. The four other players moved on to the second playoff hole, number 18. Stupples secured the second playoff position by also making birdie.

Druid Hills Golf Club played to 6,605 yards and a par 72.

Qualifiers advance to the 68th U.S. Women's Open Championship, which will be held at Sebonak Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., June 27-30. Entries were open to any female professional and to female amateurs with USGA Handicap Indexes not exceeding 4.4. The U.S. Women's Open is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
