Notes

Esther Park of Doraville, Ga., claimed medalist honors with an even-par 71.  Three other qualifiers fired scores of 73, including Kennesaw State golfer Kaew Preamchuen of Thailand, Mercer University golfer Lacey Fears of Bonaire, Ga., and Mercedes Huarte of Argentina, who currently resides in Suwanee, Ga.  University of South Carolina golfer Chelsey Couch of Ware Shoals, S.C., took the fifth and final qualifying spot with a 74.

With an eagle on the second playoff hole, Harmanprit Kaur of Lawrenceville, Ga., secured the first alternate position over high schooler Christina Yang of Suwanee, Ga.

The Oaks Course was set to 6,179 yards and a par 71.

Qualifiers advance to the 37th annual U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship, which will be held at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Course in Norman, Okla., June 17-22, 2013.  Entries were open to women amateur golfers who, since Jan. 1, 2013, have been bona fide public course players and have not held privileges of any course that does not extend playing privileges to the general public, or privileges of any private club maintaining its own course and have a USGA Handicap not exceeding 18.4.  The U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association. A total of 700 entrants (excluding 13 exempt players) will compete to be in the starting field of 156 players.
