Notes:
Jacob Harper of Valley, Ala., a member of Troy University's golf team, captured medalist honors and a spot in the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship at a 36-hole sectional qualifier at Woodmont Golf and Country Club in Canton, Ga. Harper fired a 12-under-par 132 (68-64) over the two rounds to earn one of three automatic spots. Finishing four strokes behind Harper with the second spot into the Championship was former Clemson University kicker Mark Buchholz of Cumming, Ga. Buchholz finished at 8-under-par 136 (68-68).

After 36 holes of regulation, three players were tied at 5-under-par 139, so a playoff was needed to determine the third automatic spot into the Championship and the first and second alternate positions. With a birdie on the first playoff hole, University of Georgia golfer Sam Straka of Valdosta, Ga., clinched the final spot into the U.S. APL.

Scott Wolfes of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Kelby Burton of Evans, Ga., both made par and moved on to the second playoff hole to determine the alternate positions. With a birdie on the fourth playoff hole, Kelby, who plays golf at Kennesaw State University, clinched the first alternate spot, and Wolfes, a member of the Georgia Southern University golf team, finished as second alternate.

Woodmont Golf and Country Club played to 6,830 yards and a par 72.
