Notes:
After a 36-hole qualifier for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, three players from Georgia tied for medalist honors at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens. Spencer Ralston of Gainesville, (72-71), Jacob Joiner of Albany, (70-73) and Carter Mobley of Waynesboro, (69-74) finished at 1-over-par 143 to earn spots into the national championship. Claiming the fourth automatic spot was Jonathan Keppler of Marietta, Ga., who came in at 2-over-par 144 (73-71).

Ralston, Mobley and Keppler are fresh off top-25 performances in last week's Georgia Junior Championship at The Farm in Rocky Face, Ga. Ralston tied for ninth, Mobley tied for sixth and Keppler tied for 25th.

Tyler Joiner of Albany (72-73), Jacob's brother, and Wes Simmons of Goldsboro, N.C., (75-70) finished the 36-hole qualifier tied at 3-over-par 145, so a playoff was needed to determine the first and second alternate positions. Joiner won the playoff, so he will be first alternate, while Simmons is second alternate.

The 90-player field was cut to the low 27 scores and ties, including all players within eight strokes of the 18-hole leader, after the first round. The cutline was 6-over-par 77 and 36 players advanced to round two.
The University of Georgia Golf Course, one of 61 qualifying sites nationwide, played to 7,025 yards and a par of 71.
