Notes:
Five Georgians qualify for the USGA Senior Amateur Championship after finishing in the top five at an 18-hole qualifier held at The Brickyard at Riverside in Macon, Ga. Mark Burden of Atlanta, Curt Knorr of Dunwoody and Bill Leonard of Dallas share medalist honors with rounds of 1-over-par 73. Jack Hall of Sea Island and Gay McMichael of Macon each posted 2-over-par 74 scores to qualify.

Four players finished tied at 3-over-par 75: Joseph Brogdon of Macon, Ga., Mike Gravley of Greer, S.C., Doug Harris of Franklin, Tenn., and Frank Perry of Fayetteville, Ga. Gravley and Harris were not present at the start of the playoff, so Brogdon and Perry played hole 10 to determine the first and second alternate positions. Brogdon claimed the first alternate spot with a par and Perry finished as second alternate with a bogey.

The Brickyard at Riverside was set to 6,811 yards and a par of 72 and a field of 85 players started the qualifier.

Qualifiers advance to the 59th annual USGA Senior Amateur Championship, which will be held at Wade Hampton Golf Club in Cashiers, N.C., September 21-26, 2013. Entries were open to any amateur golfer with a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 2.4. The U.S. Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the USGA.
