Scott Davenport of Marietta, Ga. birdied three of his last four holes to force a playoff for the final two qualifying spots and for the first alternate position with Will Wilcox of Ashville, Ala. and Michael Hicks of Newnan, Ga. On the first playoff hole, Wilcox and Davenport made birdie and par, respectively, to claim the qualifying spots while Hicks made bogey to settle for first alternate.

Piedmont Driving Club hosted the first of two U.S. Amateur qualifiers in Georgia. The second takes place August 4-5 at The Standard Club in Duluth.
