Notes:
Jeff Belk of Marietta, Ga., the first-round leader, earned the final qualifying spot after defeating Josh Tompkins of Acworth, Ga. on the first playoff hole. James Bowen of Dawsonville, Ga. secured the second alternate position at even-par 144 after the two competitors tied with him declined the playoff.


The Standard Club played to 7,075 yards and a par 72.


This was the second of two 36-hole sectional qualifiers in Georgia for the 2006 U.S. Amateur Championship. Piedmont Driving in Atlanta hosted the first qualifier July 25-26, with six players advancing.


The 106th U.S. Amateur Championship will be held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn., August 21-27. Entries were open to amateur golfers who have USGA Handicap Indexes not exceeding 2.4. The U.S. Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
