Notes:
A playoff was held among Mark Perry of Atlanta, Josh Tompkins of Acworth and Brent Witcher of Duluth to determine the first and second alternate positions. Perry birdied the third playoff hole to earn the first alternate spot, while Witcher parred the same hole to secure the second position.


White Columns Country Club was set to play to 6,979 yards at a par 72. The field of 145 played 18 holes on Tuesday, with the top 44 and ties advancing to Tuesday's final round. The cut fell at two-over 74 with 48 players advancing.


This qualifier is one of approximately 85 being held across the country and was the second U.S. Amateur qualifying event held in Georgia. The first qualifier took place at Capital City Club-Crabapple in Woodstock, July 26-27.


Qualifiers advance to the U.S. Amateur Championship which will be held at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa., August 22-28. The U.S. Amateur begins with two rounds of stroke play. After 36 holes, the field is cut to the low 64 scorers, who will advance to match play. Entries were open to amateurs who have USGA Handicap Indexes not exceeding 2.4. The U.S. Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
