Notes:
Katelyn Poplawski of Williston, Vt., took medalist honors with a 2-over-par 73, edging Stetson University golfer Lauren Darnell of Gainesville, Ga., by one stroke. Darnell was the second alternate at this same sectional qualifier a year ago.

The last two qualifiers, Abby Fitzgerald of Leesburg, Ga., and Suzanne Stanley of Decatur, Ala., needed a playoff to determine who took the third qualifying spot for the Team Championship portion of the Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. Each qualifying section may submit a team of three players for the 36-hole stroke play competition, which takes place during the first two rounds at the Championship. Fitzgerald secured the third spot for the Covington qualifier with a 20-foot uphill birdie putt on the first playoff hole.

There was also a playoff to determine first and second alternate positions between Louisa Yang of Suwanee, Ga., and local Cherry Lewis. Yang scored par on the first playoff hole to take the top alternate spot.

The Oaks Course was set to 6,179 yards and a par 71.

Qualifiers advance the 32nd annual U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship at Erin Hills in Erin, Wisc., June 16-21. Entries were open to women amateur golfers who, since Jan. 1, 2008, have been bona fide public course players and have not held privileges of any course that does not extend playing privileges to the general public, or privileges of any private club maintaining its own course and have a USGA Handicap not exceeding 18.4. The U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
