Notes:
Three players, Will Evans of McDonough, Ga., Clay Clifton of Alpharetta, Ga., and Sepp Straka of Valdosta, Ga., competed in a playoff for the order of the first and second alternate positions. Evans made par on the first playoff hole to secure the first alternate title while Clifton and Straka each posted bogey. Clifton then made par on the second playoff hole to take the second and final alternate spot.


The University of Georgia Golf Course (7,025 yards, par 71) served as host for one of the 62 sectional qualifying sites being played nationwide, which consisted of 36 holes of stoke play on June 10-30. The original field of 90 was cut to the low 27 scores and ties, and anyone within eight shots of the 18-hole leader.


The 62nd annual U.S. Junior Amateur Championship will be held at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., July 20-25. Entries were open to amateur golfers who will not have reached their 18th birthday on or before July 25, and who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 6.4. The U.S. Junior Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
