Notes:
Benjamin Greene of Duluth, Ga., and Bryan Fox of Roswell, Ga. competed in a playoff for the last qualifying spot and first alternate position. After two playoff holes, their play was suspended due to darkness. Returning the next morning at 8:00 a.m., the players played until Greene made par and Fox made bogey on the sixth playoff hole.


The University of Georgia Golf Course (7,025 yards, par 71) served as host for one of 39 sectional qualifying sites nationwide, which consisted of 36 holes of stoke play on June 26. The original field of 90 was cut to the low 27 scores and ties, and anyone within eight shots of the 18-hole leader.


The 61st annual U.S. Junior Amateur Championship will be held at Shoal Creek in Shoal Creek, Ala., July 21-26. Entries were open to amateur golfers who will not have reached their 18th birthday on or before July 26, and who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 6.4. The U.S. Junior Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
