Notes:
Three players – Randy White of Canton, Ga., Will Snipes of Canton, Ga. and Sam Braver of Roswell, Ga. – competed in a playoff for the first and second alternate positions. Each of the players parred the first hole of the playoff. On the second playoff hole, Braver posted par and fell out of contention for the two alternate spots as White and Snipes both birdied. White then parred the third hole of the playoff to secure the first alternate position, leaving Snipes as second alternate.

 

The 60th annual U.S. Junior Amateur Championship will be held at Boone Valley Golf Club in Augusta, Mo., July 23-28. Entries were open to amateur golfers who will not have reached their 18th birthday on or before July 28, and who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 6.4. The U.S. Junior Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.

 

Canongate-on-White Oak (6,891 yards, par 72) served as host for one of 64 sectional qualifying sites nationwide, which consisted of 36 holes of stoke play on June 26. The original field of 79 was cut to the low 24 scores and ties, and anyone within ten shots of the 18-hole leader.
