Play on Monday June 26 was suspended at 9:00 a.m. and resumed at approximately 2:00 p.m. The field completed its first 18 holes and the cut for the low 27 players and ties was made. Play continued Tuesday morning with the second round.


Jennings Mill Country Club (7,004 yards, par 72) served as host for one of 65 sectional qualifying sites nationwide, which consisted of 36 holes of stoke play on June 26 and 27.


The 59th annual U.S. Junior Amateur Championship will be held at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., July 17 - 22. Entries were open to amateur golfers who will not have reached their 18th birthday on or before July 22, and who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 6.4. The U.S. Junior Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.

 

The Georgia State Golf Association conducts 18 statewide competitions for men and women of all age groups, three interstate matches and 17 USGA qualifying events each year. Other services include computerized handicapping, course rating and measuring, a summer-long junior sectional competitions program, Golf Georgia magazine and two college scholarship programs.
