Notes:
David Noll, Jr., of Dalton, Ga., the reigning Georgia Amateur champion, earned medalist honors to automatically qualify for the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at the qualifier held at The Brickyard at Riverside in Macon, Ga. Noll's 6-under-par 66 topped six other players who also earned automatic qualifying spots into the Championship.

Michael Standard of McDonough, Ga., and Doug Stiles of Athens, Ga., tied at 4-under-par 68, Jeff Knox of Augusta, Ga., finished at 2-under-par 70, Kris Mikkelsen of Atlanta, Ga., and Shannon McWilliams of Tallahassee, Fla., tied at 1-under-par 71 and Michael Morrison of Roswell, Ga., finished at even-par 72.

After the 18 holes of regulation, Morrison was tied with Robbie Cotten of Brewton, Ala., so a playoff was needed to determine the final automatic qualifying spot. A Morrison par and a Cotten bogey later, Morrison clinched the seventh and final spot for a trip to the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship. Cotten finished as first alternate.

In a second playoff between five players who finished at 1-over-par 73, Brian Templeton of Newnan, Ga., came out on top and finished as second alternate.

The Brickyard at Riverside was set to 7,078 yards and a par of 72. A field of 107 players competed in the qualifying round.

Qualifiers advance to the 31st annual U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, which will be held at Shadow Hawk Golf Club in Richmond, Texas, September 17-22, 2011, with a starting field of 264 players. Entries were open to amateur golfers who will have reached their 25th birthday on or before Sept. 17, 2011, and who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 3.4. The U.S. Mid-Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
