Notes:
The current Georgia Mid-Amateur Champion, David Noll Jr. of Dalton, earned medalist honors by shooting 65, including a 29 on the front nine where he carded eight birdies and one bogey.

All eight qualifiers are from the state of Georgia, which shouldn't be surprising considering two Georgians made it to the final of last year's U.S. Mid-Amateur. Qualifiers include two former Georgia Amateur Champions – Noll (2003) and Bill Brown of Dublin (2006).

Six players tied at 70 competed in a playoff for the final two qualifying positions as well as first and second alternate. Terry Lisle of Hamilton, Ga., earned the seventh spot on the first playoff hole, Tevis Upton of Douglasville, Ga., grabbed the final qualifying position on the second playoff hole and the two alternates were determined on the third and final hole.

St. Ives Country Club played to approximately 6,931 yards and a par 72. It was one of 64 qualifying sites nationwide taking place August 23-September 10.

The 27th annual U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship will be held at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Ore., September 29-October 4. Entries were open to amateur golfers who will have reached their 25th birthday on or before Sept. 29, 2007 and who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 3.4. The U.S. Mid-Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
