Notes:
Lanier Golf Club (6,771 yards, par 72) played host to 133 players competing over 18 holes for eight qualifying spots and two alternate positions in the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship. There are 60 sectional qualifying sites nationwide, which are taking place this month.


The 26th annual U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship will be held at Forest Highlands Golf Club in Flagstaff, Ariz., September 9-14. Entries were open to amateur golfers who will have reached their 25th birthday on or before September 9, and who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 3.4. The U.S. Mid-Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.


GSGA conducts 18 statewide competitions for men and women of all age groups, four interstate matches and 17 USGA qualifying events each year. Other services include computerized handicapping, course rating and measuring, a summer-long junior sectional competitions program, Golf Georgia magazine and two college scholarship programs.
