This 18-hole qualifier is one of approximately 60 sectional qualifiers being held across the country between August 3 and 16. At Druid Hills, there were 144 players vying for the eight qualifying spots into the championship field of 264 players.
Qualifiers advance to the 2005 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship which will take place at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn., September 10 -15. Entries were open to amateur golfers who will have reached their 25th birthday on or before September 10, and who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 3.4. The U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
