Notes
Tommy Brannen of Augusta, Ga., the golf professional at Augusta Country Club, shared medalist honors with amateur James Stormont Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., with a 2-under-par 70.

 

There were five players at 71 who competed in a playoff for the final qualifying position and two alternate spots. Mike Lawrence of Easley, S.C. birdied the first playoff hole to take the qualifying spot. Amateur Jack Hall of Sea Island, Ga., birdied the second playoff hole for first alternate, while amateur Danny Yates of Atlanta birdied the third playoff hole for second alternate.


The Standard Club played to 6,800 yards and a par 72.


The 31st annual U.S. Senior Open Championship will be held at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash., July 29-August 1, 2010. Entries were open to any professional, or any amateur with a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 3.4, who turns 50 on or before July 29. The U.S. Senior Open is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
