Six players tied at 75, forcing a playoff to determine the final two qualifying positions as well as first and second alternate. Atlanta's Jerry Greenbaum earned a qualifying spot on the first playoff hole, while Jimmy Thomas of Alpharetta secured the eighth and final qualifying spot on the second hole. Dave Denezza of Greensburg, Pa., and John Felker of Atlanta claimed first and second alternate, respectively, on the third and final playoff hole.

Barnsley Gardens (6,862 yards, par 72) hosted a USGA Senior Amateur qualifier for the second-straight year and its field of 131 players this year was the largest among the approximately 52 qualifying sites nationwide.
