Notes:
Robert Lewis, Jr. of Pepper Pike, Ohio and Marty Perez of Lithonia, Ga. each fired rounds of 71 to capture the two qualifying spots and take co-medalist honors. Lewis captained this year's U.S. Walker Cup team to its first win over Great Britain and Ireland in eight years. Perez is a former Major League Baseball player who played most of his career with the Atlanta Braves.


Dalton Golf and Country Club was set to play to approximately 6,690 yards at a par 72.


This 18-hole qualifier is one of approximately 53 sectional qualifiers being held across the country between August 10 and 23 and one of two qualifiers being held in the state of Georgia. At Dalton Golf and Country Club, there were 38 players vying for the two qualifying spots into the championship field of 156 players.


The 2005 USGA Senior Amateur Championship will be held at The Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Ga., September 17-22. Entries were open to amateur golfers who will have reached their 55th birthday by September 17, and who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 7.4. The USGA Senior Amateur Championship is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
