Notes:
Nationwide Tour member Lee Williams of Alexander City, Ala. and amateur Mark Harrell of Hazlehurst, Ga., tied at 7-under-par 137 to share medalist honors. Both players shot 67-70. PGA Tour member Jason Dufner of Auburn, Ala., was the third qualifier, shooting 6-under 138 (69-69). Dufner qualified out of the Atlanta site for the second-straight year (last year at Ansley Golf Club's Settindown Creek in Roswell).


Both Dufner and Williams played college golf at Auburn. Harrell is currently a member of the University of Alabama golf team.


PGA Tour member and former Georgia Tech golfer Matt Kuchar is the first alternate. He tied with amateur Hudson Swafford of Tallahassee, Fla., at 139, but was the only one of the two to show for a playoff. Swafford is the second alternate.


Hawks Ridge Golf Club played to 7,183 yards and a par of 72.


The 107th U.S. Open Championship will be held at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa.., June 14-17. Entries were open to any professional and to amateurs with USGA Handicap Indexes not exceeding 1.4. The U.S. Open is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
