Notes:
Amateurs Cameron Tringale of Laguna Niguel, Calif. and Brendan Todd of Charlotte, N.C. were co-medalists at 5-under-par 67 along with professional Karl Diewock of Fayetteville, Ga. Tringale is a rising junior at Georgia Tech and Todd is a member of the University of Georgia men's golf team.


There was an eleven-man playoff among those who scored 69 for the second and final alternate position. Tucker Evans of McDonough, Ga. captured the spot after birdies on the first and second playoff holes.


Of the 109-player field, a total of 28 players shot even-par or better on the par-71, 6,676-yard layout.


The first local qualifier in Georgia was held at Marietta Country Club on Monday, May 14. Local qualifiers advance to 36-hole sectional qualifying, which takes place at 14 locations across the country May 28 and June 4. Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground will host a qualifier on Tuesday, June 4, the only sectional taking place in Georgia.


The 107th U.S. Open Championship will be held at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa., June 14-17. Entries were open to any professional and to amateurs with USGA Handicap Indexes not exceeding 1.4. The U.S. Open is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
