Notes:
Former University of Tennessee golfer Erica Popson of Davenport, Fla., captured medalist honors after posting a 3-over-par 147 (72-75) in a 36-hole sectional qualifier for the U.S. Women's Open. Popson is joined by fellow professionals Jessica Wallace of Canada and Brooke Pancake of Chattanooga, Tenn., who earn spots in the U.S. Women's Open field. Wallace (77-71) and Pancake (77-71) each recorded a 4-over-par 148 score.

Four players finished the 36-hole sectional tied at 5-over-par 149, so a playoff was needed to decide the first and second alternate positions. Professionals Carmen Bandea of Johns Creek, Ga., Kelly Tan of Malaysia and Callie Nielson of Nashville, Tenn., returned to the 10th tee (Jean Reynolds of Newnan, Ga., was not present at the start of the playoff). With a birdie on the first playoff hole, Tan secured the first alternate position. Bandea and Nielson then went on to play 17 (still tied), then 18 (still tied), then 10 (still tied), then 17 - still tied. Back to the 18th with daylight all but gone, Bandea made par and Nielson just missed her putt for par, therefore Bandea earned the second alternate spot.

Dunwoody Country Club played to 6,816 yards and a par 72.
