Notes:
A pair of Kennesaw State University golfers finished one-two to earn spots in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. Kaew Preamchuen of Kennesaw, Ga., earned medalist honors after firing a 4-under-par 67 at an 18-hole qualifier at The Oaks Course in Covington, Ga. Her college teammate, Ines Lescudier of France, posted a 1-over-par 72 to finish second. The third player to earn a spot in the U.S. WAPL field is a sophomore at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Ga., Christina Yang of Suwanee, who posted a 2-over-par 73.

A playoff was needed to determine the first and second alternate positions as Diana Fernandez of Paraguay and Cayla Smith of Easley, S.C., each finished at 3-over-par 74. Fernandez, who plays for Auburn University, and Smith, who will begin her collegiate career at High Point University in High Point, N.C., this fall, both made par on the first two playoff holes. On the third, Fernandez made par and Smith bogeyed, giving themselves the first and second alternate positions, respectively.

The Oaks Course was set to 6,179 yards and a par 71.

Qualifiers advance to the 38th annual U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship, which will be held at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash., July 14-19, 2014. Entries were open to women amateur golfers who, since Jan. 1, 2014, have been bona fide public course players and have not held privileges of any course that does not extend playing privileges to the general public, or privileges of any private club maintaining its own course and have a USGA Handicap not exceeding 18.4. The U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
