Ashley Holder of Orlando, Fla., and Mercedes Huarte of Argentina are co-medalists and have qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. Holder and Huarte each posted a 3-under-par 69 at an 18-hole qualifier at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga. Also earning a spot in the Championship field included Avery George of Macon, Ga., (71), Courtney Zeng of Orlando, Fla., (72), Natalie Srinivasan of Spartanburg, S.C., (72), Kaew Preamchuen of Thailand (73) and Janie Jackson of Huntsville, Ala., (73).


Five players tied for eighth at 2-over-par 74 – Katie Mitchell of Atlantic Beach, Fla., Janet Mao of Johns Creek, Ga., August Kim of St. Augustine, Fla., Taylor McGraw of Forsyth, Ga., and Carlton Kuhlo of Tallahassee, Fla. Those players returned to the first tee to begin a playoff to determine the final three qualifying spots and the first and second alternate positions.


After replaying the 419-yard par 4 first hole, Mitchell secured a qualifying spot with a par, and McGraw finished as second alternate with a double-bogey. Mao, Kim and Kuhlo then returned to the second playoff hole (#2). Mao and Kim earned the final two qualifying spots into the Championship, while Kuhlo finished as first alternate.


Pinetree Country Club played to 6,303 yards and a par 72.


The 114th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship will be held at Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, N.Y., August 4-10, 2014. Entries were open to female amateurs with a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 5.4. The U.S. Women's Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
