Notes:
Glenn Albright and Charlie McDaniel, both of Columbus, Ga., fired a 7-under-par 63 to earn medalist honors and qualify for the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship. An 18-hole qualifier took place at Rivermont Golf Club in Johns Creek.
Three teams tied at 5-under-par 65, so a playoff was needed to determine the final qualifying spot and two alternate positions. Greg Kennedy/Reece Whitley, both of Duluth, Ga., Pete Abernathy/Blair Scurlock, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Tripp Coggins of Savannah/Ashley Loyd of Johns Creek returned to the first tee for the playoff.
Kennedy and Whitley were eliminated first and finished as second alternate. Abernathy/Scurlock and Coggins/Loyd then played the 18th hole to continue the playoff. After both teams made par on 18, they returned to the first tee for the third playoff hole. On that hole is where Abernathy and Scurlock clinched the final qualifying spot into next year's national championship. Coggins and Loyd finished as first alternate.
The second annual U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship will be held at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, May 21-25, 2016. The U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
