Notes:

Kent Bulle of Glasgow, Ky., fired a 11-under-par 133 (69-64) at a 36-hole sectional qualifier to earn medalist honors and a spot in the U.S. Open. Bulle is joined by amateur Ryan Stachler of Alpharetta, Ga., (8-under-par 136) and Frank Adams III of Salisbury, N.C. (7-under-par 137) who earned qualifying spots into the national championship.

Two players came in at 4-under-par 140, including Ryan Gildersleeve of Clearwater, Fla. (69-71) and Bryan Fox of Roswell, Ga. (67-73), so a playoff was needed to determine the first and second alternates.

Due to heavy rain in the area, the playoff was suspended at 7:00 p.m. After a one hour and six minute delay, play was resumed. Fox made his birdie putt on the first playoff hole (#1) to secure the first alternate spot, while Gildersleeve made par to finish as second alternate.

Ansley Golf Club-Settindown Creek played to 7,255 yards and a par 72.

The first of two 18-hole qualifiers for the 2016 U.S. Open Championship was held on Tuesday, May 10. Planterra Ridge Golf Club in Peachtree City hosted 132 players competing for seven qualifying spots and two alternate positions to advance into sectional qualifying.
A second local qualifier in Georgia took place Monday, May 16, at Jennings Mill Country Club in Watkinsville.
