Hall and Hanzel complete first ever three-peat

MOULTRIE, Ga.  ---  It came down to a playoff but the Savannah duo of Jack Hall and Doug Hanzel prevailed to complete the three peat. With a 19-under-par 197 (66-63-68), they become the first team to ever win three straight Georgia Senior Four-Ball Championships. This year's competition took place at Sunset Country Club in Moultrie, November 8-10.

Hall and Hanzel edged out the Macon pair of Hal Johnson and Georgia Golf Hall of Famer Peter Persons in a playoff. On the first playoff hole (#18), Hall made birdie to clinch the victory.

In the Super Senior Four-Ball Championship, Larry Clark of Kingston and Al Small of Savannah posted a 6-under-par final round (-16 overall) to capture a three stroke victory. Bill Leonard of Marietta and Don Marsh of Johns Creek posted a three day (68-67-68) 203 to finish in second.

This event was open to male amateur golfers age 55 or older on or before the first day of the competition for the Senior Division and 65 or older for the Super Senior Division. A maximum stroke differential of six strokes is allowed between partner. If the differential is more than six strokes, the higher index will be adjusted down to six strokes.
