The Georgia State Golf Association's volunteer governing structure includes three main categories of service: the Board of Directors, Directors Emeritus and Committeemen.
Board of Directors
The management of the Georgia State Golf Association is vested in its Board of Directors. Voting regular members of the Board of Directors include the Executive Committee, Senior Directors and Directors. Ex-officio members include the Past Presidents and the General Counsel. The Board meets annually to review the activity of the Association, transact any business and elect a new slate of officers and directors.
Directors Emeritus
Upon completing 10 years of service or gaining Senior Director status, an individual may retire from the Board of Directors and elect Director Emeritus status. They may continue to serve the GSGA at their leisure, but have non-voting status.
Committeemen
Committeemen serve as GSGA volunteers on a year-to-year basis. They are involved in course rating, competitions, standing committees, the Junior Sectional program, the GSGA Foundation, the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame or any other area of volunteer Association activity. As participation and service warrant, Committeemen may become eligible for consideration for the Board of Directors.
The Bill Todd Award
The Bill Todd Award honors a volunteer who maintains the highest standard of service and stewardship to the GSGA. It is named for one of the GSGA's most valued volunteers who spent more than 20 years serving the Association. Todd served as GSGA's president in 1995 and gave of his time in many ways before his passing in 2001.
