CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION - The following conditions shall be in effect for this competition:

  • GSGA competitions are "spikeless" events. Therefore, metal and traditionally-designed spikes are prohibited. Penalty for breach of this condition is disqualification.
  • Players are responsible for posting their scores to the handicap system upon conclusion of this competition. Scores must be posted as tournament scores. Course slope and rating information is typically posted at the scoreboard during the competition. You may also contact GSGA for this information. Your scores are subject to review by your peers and your club's handicap committee.

COMPETITION

Amateur Championship Qualifying - West Lake Country Club, Augusta
ELIGIBILITY

Open to male amateur golfers who are GSGA members and residents of Georgia

FIELD

100 player-maximum at each qualifying site

FORMAT

18 hole individual stroke play qualifier; a total of 144 players will advance to the Championship proper. Qualifying places will be awarded according to a pro-rated formula. You will be informed as to the number of qualifying places in your section the day of qualifying.

CHAMPIONSHIP FEE

Players advancing to the Championship will be responsible for a $100 Championship fee. This fee will be charged to the player upon being transferred to the Championship proper in the online registration system after your qualifying round has concluded. 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

One practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated dates and times below two weeks prior to the competition. Please call West Lake Country Club to make arrangements after May 15. Practice round cart and range fee is $25 plus tax. Credit cards ONLY will be accepted.

  • Tuesday-Thursday; anytime
  • Friday-Sunday; after 1:00 p.m.
YARDAGES & TEES The BLUE tee markers and yardages will be utilized for the qualifying round. Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.
GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE The golf shop and driving range will open at 7:00 a.m. on the day of qualifying.
STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the clubs the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on May 25. 

REGISTRATION

No formal registration will be held on site. 

CARTS

Practice round carts and range fees are $25 plus tax. Credit cards ONLY will be accepted. Tournament round cart and range fees are included in the entry fee.

FOOD SERVICE

Limited food service will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m.

PRIZES

Silver medals will be awarded to the low scorer from each qualifying site.

 

REFUND POLICY

 

A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled. Withdraws after the close of entries must be made by calling the GSGA Rules and Competitions Department at (770) 955-4272 or via email
